Is it normal for mealworm feeder to be completely decimated in one day?

I’m in the process of moving into my first house from a flat, I’ve not moved in yet, so I’m not there early morning or sunset, I’m only in doing work during the day… So I’ve never had a garden before, but I love birds and was really excited to some bird feeders out. So I hung a mealworm one on the fence yesterday afternoon… I got here at 11am today and the whole thing was completely empty… They’ve had a go at the one with the fat balls, but it’s still got loads left. But what the hell happened to the meal worm one???!! They can’t have eaten the whole lot surely?? Is that normal?
