My theory on why the younger generations are pushing for new socialism/communism

My theory is that a lot of younger people genuinely believe they’ve been handed a worse deal than previous generations. They don’t think they have the same opportunities their parents or grandparents had, so some have reached the point where they think almost any alternative couldn’t be worse than the current system

I also think there’s a growing victim mentality in parts of this generation. At the same time, there are real challenges they’re dealing with. Immigrants are often willing to work incredibly hard to get ahead. Home prices have become so expensive that owning a house feels out of reach for many. Companies constantly push subscriptions and services that encourage people to spend money they don’t really have. And social media creates the illusion that everyone else is rich and living an amazing life, making people feel like they’re falling behind.

I’m an older millennial, and I had to grind for years. I changed jobs, dealt with setbacks, and didn’t really feel financially comfortable until my late 30s. Looking at me today, you probably wouldn’t see all the years of hard work, stress, and sacrifice that got me here. That’s the part people often don’t see. Thoughts?
