Dating

I do not know what dating culture is like in Japan. I’m in the American military and am going to be stationed here for a few years and figured since my last relationship ended a couple months ago, I should see if I could find my person while I’m here. I’m learning Japanese, but wouldn’t know where to even begin to start dating or how to speak to the local women. I don’t want to seem like one of those weird dudes who fetishizes Japanese women because it’s not like I chose to be here. Any/all help would be greatly appreciated.
