kyrc - a typing test tui

my friend spent his free time building this, a typing test that runs entirely in your terminal, no browser or internet needed: kyrc.vercel.app

what got me is how little friction there is, no account wall, no "sign in with google," you just run one command and you're typing within a second. it tracks wpm/accuracy/consistency off a real keystroke log instead of made-up numbers, so it feels honest

can be installed in just one line :

npm i -g @kyrc/kyrc
bun add -g @kyrc/kyrc
brew install abh1nav9/tap/kyrc

then just kyrc

he also built a leaderboard, you can log in with just a username (no email, no password) and it'll sync your best score whenever you're online. runs are signed on your device so no one can fake a score. this part's brand new so if people actually try logging in and something breaks, that's exactly the feedback he needs right now

it's free, not trying to sell you anything, just want more people to see something he actually finished and shipped
