How are boomers so Pro AI?

So I recently went to a 4th july party with my dad and his old friend was there who we don't see much bc he lives several states away was in town, I always looked up to this guy bc he was big into graphic design and art and even ran his own business he's like late 50's. So we were talking and the dude could not stop going off about how great ai was and how "it's the future" and i was like weirded out bc you would think someone so big into art would be highly against it. I even asked like do you mean ai as a tool like chat gpt or full gen ai and he was like gen ai it does everything for me it's amazing, So ofc i bring up the well its making everything more expensive and alotta people have a problem with what it's doing to the environment and dude responds with " ehhhh i don't think ai is doing that" LIKE BRO WHAT! have u seen the price of ram or a video game console lately? nothing seemed to stick with this dude. Even when i brought up like there's better faster easier ways to do stuff without ai dude was like making stuff yourself? and dude says "oh yeah everything u described i can do with ai" and he even tried to hit me with the "oh well they said the same stuff about the internet in the 90s we just gotta accept it it's inevitable" when like the only people saying that are tech ceos. And like to make sure i wasn't crazy I asked like 5 other people who were my age mid 20s what they thought of ai and they were all obviously against it hated what it was doing. It's not just my dads friend either whos obsessed both my parents my friends parents love ai slop on facebook I genuinely do not understand it I thought boomers hated technology why do they all love ai so much

even most millennials I've talked to hate ai with a burning passion
