M&E NYP bound train cancelled en route

Not sure why but my NY Penn bound train running in the Morris & Essex line stopped at Newark Broad Street station and everyone was told that the train was cancelled and that we would need to switch to track 1 for another Penn station bound train. Be advised that the electronic departure screens may not be showing the correct arriving trains as they all are running late. If you are switching at Newark Broad to Penn station make sure you get confirmation from a conductor before boarding as some are going to Penn and others to Hoboken.
