My mother has been feeling very lonely after my cousin sister left, and I don't know how to help her
Pata hai aaj kya hua
My mother has been feeling extremely lonely, and I don't know how to help her anymore. Any advice?
I'm a college student, and my younger brother is in Kota preparing for competitive exams. We live in Delhi with our mother, who has been a single parent for us since my father abandoned our family in 2019.
For the past few years, our cousin sister (who is now 9 years old) was living with us. My mother became very attached to her. They used to spend a lot of time together, go to the temple daily, talk a lot, and my mother genuinely seemed happier and more engaged with life.
However, due to family circumstances, my cousin's mother took her back to their hometown this January. Since then, I've noticed that my mother has become increasingly lonely. She mostly does household chores, spends time on her phone, and sometimes sleeps a lot during the day. She doesn't seem interested in engaging in activities anymore.
I've tried talking to her, motivating her, encouraging her to go out or pick up hobbies, but nothing seems to help much. I do have friends, but everyone is busy with their own lives, and honestly, I don't really know whom to share this with.
I'm genuinely worried about her. Has anyone dealt with something similar with a parent? What can I do to help her feel less lonely and more engaged with life again?
Any advice would be appreciated.
