"It was so wonderful watching you both truly enjoy playing with your son."

It was a glorious summer day and we were on a mission to have lunch at our favorite local spot and play some boardgames before setting off to the park to practice baseball skills with our 8yo son. At the restaurant, my son noticed 2 of his classmates and their big sister a few tables over with their mom. He went and said hi, husband and I waived, before we got down to enjoying our meal and playing Zombie Kids.

After, we roll up to the park and it seems we all had the same plan. We wrapped up baseball practice and our son wanted to spend some time playing with his friends. So we mosey over to introduce ourselves to their mom as he darts for the monkey bars. We chat a bit and it naturally came up that he is our only before she made that comment. I expressed how wonderful her girls are, we hear loads about them from our son, and we eventually exchanged numbers and headed home.

I can't stop thinking about it. It was so ordinary for us. We do so much together. Especially now that he is getting older and is interested in our hobbies and building his own. It really is a charmed life and I'm so happy it's mine.
