I'm looking for a movie I watched on TV years ago

. A husband and wife are constantly fighting, and the father carries a huge amount of guilt throughout the movie. Near the end, there's a flashback revealing why: years earlier, they had a baby. The family had the habit of leaving the baby outside in the cold for a while (similar to Scandinavian countries). The father went inside and accidentally forgot the baby outside. The baby was locked out and died of hypothermia. The mother found the child later (or possibly a neighbor did). The couple later had another child, who appears during most of the movie. The revelation of the baby's death happens only near the end.
