Monk Frostreaver DPS / weapon choice

Background- Played a monk on former TLPs (last one, Oakwynd thru PoP). I don't currently plan on raiding on this server, but play with a one-man group of friends that try to do min-max top tier one group content (ex, dragons) as we can, and expect to get decent gear and ok money with that. But keep in mind, we won't have high-end raid gear, just some of the lower tier purchasable stuff.

I know in the past, monk DPS was top-tier. I read there was some sort of nerf for monks since I last played a couple years ago or so. From the various posts I've found, I've hard to find definitive #s on how much of a nerf, but ~15% decrease vs MOTM. Can anyone confirm if that is roughly accurate, or applies to non-MOTM, etc?

I've heard conflicting info on in game monk channel chats, from this nerf making epic worthless, to not that big of a deal. For a non-raiding monk, assuming I finish epic soon, hasted, ~3KR or less weapons (ex, no Gharn's), what's the current meta? Should I be using be using fist(s), 1 hander, or a 2 hander? Weapon recommendations? Would it be a different choice vs normal fights vs MOTM (ex, 2 hander vs MOTM only)?
