beginner advice?

hi lovelies. pretty much into all things botanical and aquascaping so I have shrimp tanks and aim to make them happy as possible.

really would love a praying mantis just wondering for the best advice for which would be the best beginner

enclosure size (I know there is the usual but are they 100% happy or should I try get an even bigger enclosure than usual?

is it best to get from an egg (do they “bond” with us?) or to get an adult from the store.

temperature? is that a big thing? It’s pretty cold where I live and ngl I do like having my windows open so wondering if that’s a big no no?

I know live food is the must but wondering (I’m in the UK) is it accessible enough to order live feeding every so often or more necessary to order and breed yourself? don’t really want a generation of fruit flies about my place.

can I put house plants I already have in the enclosure or is there ones toxic or bad for them?

I will obv be watching a lot of videos and reading about it prior but any basic stuff from you guys would be the best.
