67% of organizers only consider swag successful if recipients re-use them

91% of employees feel more valued receiving Nike, North Face or YETI over a generic branded item. Most people assume "branded swag" means putting your logo on stuff. Turns out the brand on the item matters as much as the logo you put on it. That finding comes from our 2026 Swag Trends Survey, and it reframes how organizers are thinking about swag altogether.

On the apparel side, the shift is toward gear people would wear on a Saturday. Heavyweight tees and fleece, garment-dyed colors and relaxed drop-shoulder fits are what's replacing the standard corporate kit.

  • 44.4% of buyers say longevity and quality matters most for non-apparel items
  • 24.6% called out the standard cotton tee as overdone, though people will still take one if the fit and fabric are good
  • 53% are very or extremely interested in premium decoration like embroidery, leather patches or laser engraving

What's the best piece of branded gear your team has actually held onto?
