2014 ram 1500 WIN Module
To start I’m a pretty good mechanic and regularly work on my own cars all the way from classic cars to new 2020 cars and I’m not afraid to modify some stuff. I have a 2014 ram 1500 that my wife drives as her daily driver. It only has 170000 miles on it and it runs just fine (except I had to replace the infamous pentastar oil cooler) except that it won’t start. It’s the WIN module because sometimes it would start and sometimes it won’t don’t anything and now it’s just dead. I took it apart and cleaned it thoroughly and it made no difference at all. What I’m asking is if there’s a way to just bypass the WIN module and put in a normal style key switch. I saw that someone had put in a push button by wiring out of the fusebox for the relay but this is for my wife and I know she won’t go for that haha. Does anyone know exactly how the wiring works for the key and how to get it to crank without that box. I know they don’t cost thattttt much but then you have to get them flashed for another 150 to 200 and that makes it a damn near 500 dollar fix for something I could easily do myself if they hadn’t made it so difficult just so you’d have to take it to them.
