I've posted on here a couple of times before, I have a lab rescue beagle named Rio. I could understand that he would be scared of metal clanking because it is really loud and he probably would have heard it in a laboratory. But recently when my husband has farted he is scared of the noise. He is so scared that he gets away from my husband, tail between legs, and literally shakes. I can't think of anything that would make him associate farts with being so terrifying. Even if you make a fart noise with your mouth he gets scared (although we only did it once to make sure it was the noise and not the smell or anything)

I want to try to get him to not be scared of it (because i mean as humans we have to fart...) so I've been making small noises with my mouth and trying to give him treats, but HE WON'T TAKE THE TREAT AND HE RUNS AWAY. This is big for a beagle. So now I'm just making the noise and dropping treats.

I want to be sure that he will associate farts with treats, and not the other way around or associate me with being scary. I'm also trying not to coddle him when he gets scared as to not reinforce that it's a scary thing.

Does anyone have any insight on this, tips on training other than what I'm doing, or why he would be so afraid? Pic for attention
