Academic advisor told me to "beg on my knees" to fix a grading error on my university transcript
I’ve been balancing a full-time job with my degree, so I transferred to a part-time/distance learning program after my second year. I just finished my third year, and suddenly, my name showed up on the official list of academic debtors.
The thing is, I know I completed all my coursework and submitted everything on the LMS platform on time. I’m looking for student support or advice on how to handle this because I shouldn't be on this list.
I messaged our academic advisor in our group chat, asking politely why this happened. She got weirdly aggressive, demanded I call her, and when I finally did, she was useless. She basically told me, "Just make up a sob story and beg on your knees, and maybe the professors will clear the course requirements for you."
Honestly, this is total cringe. It’s not my job to lie or "beg" when my work is already uploaded and graded on the student portal. The professors have the obligation to track academic progress. It feels like she’s just trying to dodge her responsibility for this administrative error.
Has anyone dealt with similar university bureaucracy? I’m exhausted from trying to navigate this alone. Is there any academic help available for students when the administration fails? Any advice on how to escalate this to the Dean’s office would be appreciated.
