*French onion samich cuz yummy*

I’ve been writing for about ten years now, and I’ve always loved taking whatever weird little idea pops into my head and turning it into a story. Writing has always been my escape. It’s my own little world that I get to disappear into whenever real life gets a bit too loud. I’ve shared bits and pieces of my work over the years, though I slowed down recently because I got stuck in my own head and started feeling pretty self conscious about my writing.

About a year or two ago, I was introduced to a dinosaur game. I **lllloooovvvveeee** dinosaurs. I could ramble about them for hours. They’re just so badass.

I discovered the roleplay community, where people create personalities, backstories, and entire lifetimes for their dinosaurs.

I started making characters, building their stories on my own and with other people. I’m actually still working on the story of the second character I ever created. He’s currently sitting at **26 chapters and over 850,000 words**, which is honestly kind of insane now that I think about it TwT
He’s become incredibly important to me, and knowing other people have grown attached to him too has been one of the most rewarding parts of writing. I’ve met some amazing friends because of these stories.

But, im honestly a little embarrassed by it in real life.

I want to show my family. I want to tell my mom, I want my sisters to see what I’ve spent countless hours creating. I want to share it with my friends outside of the game. But every time I think about it, my anxiety immediately convinces me they’ll think it’s silly or laugh at it.

My sisters aren’t really the judgmental type, they both know I play the game. My older sister has caught me typing out absurdly long paragraphs on my phone more times than I can count and has asked what I’m writing. Every single time, I want to hand her my phone and say, “Here, read this!” and every single time I chicken out. It’s probably just anxiety doing what anxiety does best, but it’s been sitting in the back of my mind a lot lately.

Anyway! If it’s allowed here, I’d love to share some of my stories sometime, though they can get pretty ~~dark and gory~~ in places, so if that’s not allowed no worries at all!

Thanks for coming to my DinoTEDTalk :D

I write stories that I’m a bit embarrassed about.
