A few days ago, I saw about the 3 qt oval baker in olive which was on sale for about $100 in the US. I kind of dropped the ball on it and didn't buy before they increased the price back to 175 or so which set me into a little bit of a FOMO.

After some consideration, I realized that while Olive is a beautiful color it wouldn't really match with my matte navy saucepan I already have- it got me thinking about what other colors might work well.

I stumbled across this gorgeous color
"mimosa"-fortunately I found a seller had one of these in new condition.

From what research I’ve done I found out that this color was released in 2015 and was only made available to the Asian market. Apparently it also only had a very limited line of product with it- I think a small short handled saucepan- a cocotte-and I think potentially different sizes of the soup pot. If anyone knows anything else about this color, I would love to learn more!

Either way, the color is very unique. It’s a very light yellow and somewhat low saturation.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not a fan of the glossy finish or the gradient color ways-l really do prefer matte, solid colors. To the best of my knowledge mimosa is the only matte yellow l've ever seen by Creuset, but I may be wrong.

In any event, I'm absolutely delighted. I think the 2.6 L capacity is basically a Goldilock size. Unusually this variety of the soup pot features beige enamel as opposed to the typical black enamel found on this unit.
