Anyone else feel like small businesses are getting priced out of their own software?
I work with a lot of small shops around the country, trades, garages, local service places, and I keep running into the same thing. The software these businesses actually need keeps getting priced and built for big companies. $300 a month minimums, per-seat fees, annual contracts, and a stack of features a one-truck operation is never going to touch. So they either pay like they're a 50-person company, or skip it and just eat the extra hours.
And nobody really talks about it. We gripe about rent and labor and card fees, but the monthly software bill quietly creeps up on all of us. What's everybody paying a month for subscriptions, and is this something worth the group having a voice on?
