Is a Casio A168 really worth repairing?
Hi everyone,
I recently picked up a secondhand A168 from a seller on EBay. It does the basics of telling the time pretty well, as you;d expect, but has a fairly serious flaw in that the button on the top left that controls the backlight and other functions isn't working properly. I can press it in - most of the way anyway - but it doesn't appear to be making any contacts with the watch's internal circuitry.
As a result, not only doesn't the backlight work but I can't change the mode to set the time, date etc. All I can reset are the seconds.
Despite this, as I said its basic watch functionality still works.
Is it worth finding a knowledgeable watch repairer to try to get it fixed, bearing in mind that it has little or no sentimental value and a replacement A168 wouldn't be expensive?
Thanks in advance.
