Will I ever have the future I dream of?
I do not dream very big, I used to think I will permanently leave India, but now I just want stability in future, a good life, not even kids or a wife.
Where do I start even. Getting a job keeps getting harder day by day, my friend's father just got laid off. Since i was 9 I was interested in computers, and even learnt some coding from my father. Every other person wants to give JEE and get into IITs. Wherever I go, I see people working harder. Its not even that I am slacking off. 4 hours on school days and 6 on non school days (average study time). I usually get rank 30-60/800 in my coaching tests. But still on an average there are 50 kids better than me, atleast 50000 kids better than me in entire india. So that essentially means that forget IIT.
But then whatever, I will get into an NIT or IIIT? right? They also have good packages, indeed. But then again, in 4-5 years what will be the IT landscape? With AI replacing so many jobs? What do i have to hold onto? Every other guy is trying to become an engineer. What can I hope that shit gets better? Even experienced and skilled people are searching for jobs man. And I am not even slacking there, I have studied all of basic python, some sql, studying fastapi. I just manage to get a little bit of time somehow for it.
The only solution I see is going all in of JEE track, because most IITs have a very high rate of placement. But i feel like crying if I don't do any physical exercise for more than 48 hours. Upto 10th I never needed coaching, even went to football academy every day. But since 10th I have been studying more and more and scoring less and less. I always thought balance is key but those who are never going out, sleeping 4-6 hours and studying 10-12 hours are scoring better.
Every waking hour of my day is filled with either studying, or thinking about what to study, being unable to study properly, not scoring well in tests etc. Its hard to get my mind off of it. I really hope in 5-6 years I will earn atleast enough to have enough to eat, support my parents and maybe even enjoy my life a little bit.
