The Road to P5 Bindings - Day 10 (Soul Binding Attempt 1)
Ok, so this went both worse and better than I thought it was. I’m not going to lie, I’ve been dreading this one, but getting as far as I did, I feel a lot better. I mostly wanted to find out which bosses would be harder for me without much magic, which were for sure Oblobbles, Galien, Markoth, and GPZ. Hornet Sentinal was a lot slower too, since I normally use Shade Soul to just clear her spikes when she makes them. Watcher Knights also gave me some grief just because I’m used to being able to melt the last half of their HP with Shade Soul, and I almost died against Sheo, but that’s more because I was being too cautious. After GPZ, it was pretty simple to get to Radiance, although I still didn’t manage to beat PV with any Lifeblood left.
During Abs Rad, I was careful, and decided to keep my soul instead of healing one mask after the swords (which, in retrospect, I now REALLY regret). The combination of Strength and Quick Slash actually did a lot more than I would give it credit for when I’m so used to a magic build for her, and I was surprised how quickly I got through platforms (spikes were actually much more noticeably worse than platforms). I got through the climb hitless, but still only had 5 masks after that. I did take 2 orbs though. Annoyingly, at her last hit, she first teleported to the left, so I dashed there, then she teleported to the middle, and I fell off the edge, otherwise I could have finished her. I’m kinda miffed that she can deke me out like that, but it is what it is.
I’m way more confident on this binding now, but who knows – it might be another week before I get as good a run on Abs Rad as this one.
Also, please give me any advice on my build for this binding, I kinda just threw a dart here. I figure it helps to focus on nail damage with Strength and Quick Slash, and then I put on Deep Focus for the first 35 fights just to help maintain, although once I started getting lifeblood that was less important (but it did save me vs Sheo). Defender’s Crest for 1-25 was just to kind of fill the last notch, figuring the other one-notch charms wouldn’t help too much. I put on NMG for set 26-30 simply because I use Great Slash against Sly, and on Hornet when she’s stunned.
My build:
1-25, 31-35: Strength, Quick Slash, Deep Focus, Defender’s Crest
26-30: Strength, Quick Slash, Deep Focus, Nailmaster’s Glory
36-40: Strength, Shaman Stone, Nailmaster’s Glory, Soul Eater
41-42: Strength, Shaman Stone, Quick Slash, Heart
Days: 10
Wins: 2
Losses: 8
Bindings done: Nail, Shell
