Random question about Jesus

Did Jesus ever say “You can’t play both sides & expect greatness out of it”? This guy I know goes on rants when someone offends him, this time it was me & in his public rant he said that & immediately I thought “no he didn’t” but I could be wrong considering I haven’t read the full Bible
