Toddler sensory-seeking biting at home, starts daycare in a few weeks, how can I get him to stop?

Daycare/Preschool

My almost 2 year old has been a biter since he was a baby. It’s 100% sensory-seeking behavior, he used to chew on my tshirts and everything under the sun as a baby, now as a toddler we have him weaned off the paci so he doesn’t have anything to fulfill that oral sensory need anymore. So now he tries to bite me allllll day. I immediately step away say “no biting”, I put him down if I’m holding him, I say “bite the pillow instead” like i don’t allow him to do it. But it’s constant and I can tell he’s just itching for something to chew on.

He starts daycare in a few weeks and I want to set him up for success so he doesn’t get kicked out.

Note: it’s not communication related he talks a lot 2-3 word phrases and is very assertive. He’s not speech delayed at all.
