Father to son advice?

Bare with me on this. Dad wasn't around by choice. Mum had us and didn't want him involved. Being a male teenager my mum's instructions on keep my manhood clean wasn't brilliant. I did my best and do better now. But I have a young son and I have no clue really how to instruct him. What have you told your son's or even your own routine? Never had bad comments so I'm doing something right but I need that father to son wisdom. Sorry if this doesn't make sense I'm on the spectrum.
