Experience with girlfriend's parents
Hi, I'm asking for advice. Let me give some background first. My girlfriend (29, F) and I (29, M) have been together for about two years. Her parents are not accepting of me. They are Chinese immigrants, but she grew up in America.
I am a white trans man, completely passing. You would not know I was ever transgender unless you saw me buck naked. We were friends before we dated for a couple of years, so her parents know I am trans. This is why they don't accept me.
I met her mom this past weekend and she ignored me when she tried to introduce her to me. She made dinner (it was delicious btw) at their house, and she didn't even eat with us. I am even learning Chinese, so it was very embarrassing to follow along with what her mom said to her during the introduction. I get along well with all of her siblings. One of her sisters is even gay, married to a woman. My girlfriend's parents are cordial with them, but in private say that they are emotionally disconnected from her sister and her wife.
Overall, I'm feeling very upset about this. We are looking for kind words and advice. How should we continue to approach this situation?
