Professional Meat Cutter/Meat Manager

So to keep this as anonymous as possible, I work as a meat manager/trainer for a small chain that got bought out by a very large international company. Nothing is said to change but I am not naive. I know the large company runs almost exclusively prepackaged meats. I don’t want to work for this global corporation. I have always worked for small family owned companies where you actually knew the owners and people in charge. I don’t want to be just a number and I am seeking employment elsewhere because of this. I take an extreme amount of pride in working for local family owned operations. This was very abrupt and I was not prepared to be looking for work at this time but here we are.

I am not opposed to relocation anywhere in the US —if the price is right.

I have been cutting for over 10 years. I just can’t see myself working for this massive corporation in the long term. It’s not what I value or believe in. I believe in communities and taking care of the people in them. Also knowing where your meat comes from and who cut it. I also refuse to run a shop that doesn’t cut meat. It’s just not where my heart is. 😔
