Why I Love Reading in Bed Again

I forgot how much I missed reading in bed.

Not scrolling. Not watching random videos. Actually reading a real book for 20 minutes before falling asleep.

I stopped doing it for years because my phone was just... easier. I'd tell myself I'd read tomorrow, then somehow end up watching videos until way past midnight.

A while back I decided to leave my phone on the dresser and keep a book on my nightstand instead. I wasn't trying to become one of those super disciplined people. I just wanted something that didn't leave my brain buzzing.

It took a few nights to get used to it, but now I actually look forward to it.

The funny part is I rarely make it through more than a chapter before I start getting sleepy. I used to think that meant I wasn't reading enough, but honestly I think that's the whole point.

Now my bedroom feels less like an extension of the internet and more like a place where I can actually unwind.

I still doomscroll sometimes. I'm definitely not perfect. But reading in bed has become one of those little habits that makes the end of the day feel a lot calmer.

Anybody else get back into reading before bed? Or am I the only one who forgot how relaxing it actually is?
