Can I receive GTA Trilogy as a Steam gift if it’s blocked in my region?

GTA Trilogy is currently on sale on Steam, but I can’t even view the store page because it’s blocked in my region.

If someone from a supported region buys the game and sends it to me as a Steam gift, will I be able to redeem and play it? Or will the regional restriction prevent that too?
Has anyone tried this before?
