Should I Go Abroad for Law?

I’m a U.S. citizen about to earn my bachelor’s degree from a U.S. university. During undergrad, I spent a semester abroad in Europe and really enjoyed the experience. Instead of attending law school in the U.S., I’m considering pursuing an LL.B. in Europe.

Has anyone here taken this path? If so, what was your experience like?

I’m particularly interested in:

  • Whether an LL.B. from Europe was valuable professionally.
  • What job opportunities were available after graduation if you did not qualify as a lawyer (get barred/admitted) in either Europe or the U.S.
  • Whether employers in the U.S. recognized and valued the degree.
  • What kinds of careers you were able to pursue outside of traditional legal practice.

My concern is that if I earn an LL.B. abroad but do not become licensed to practice law in Europe or the United States, I may end up with limited career options. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone down this route.
