Coming off the wait list soon. Anything I should do to prepare?

My wait list number is finally in the low low double digits, so assume I will be getting off it in the near future.

Is there anything I should do to familiarize myself with the more complex aspects of LL? I see a lot of talk about stats and defense, and it is all pretty foreign to me. Anything you wish you knew before you started? Or should I just go in blind and hope for the best?
