I believe my disability is holding me back from getting my first job.

Hello, I could really use some advice.

I have a disability that makes speaking difficult, and I also have trouble hearing. Over the past two months, I've had six job interviews, but every time I hear something like, "We'll get back to you," and then I never hear from them again. I even try following up, but I usually don't get a response.

I've also worked with Vocational Rehabilitation, but I'm still struggling to land my first job.

It's been really discouraging. I feel like everything goes well until they meet me in person. Once they hear me speak, I never seem to move forward. I can't know that's the reason, but after it keeps happening, it's hard not to wonder.

What I really want is a job that's more physical, like stocking or warehouse work, because I think I'd do well in that kind of environment. I have open availability, I don't mind physical work, and I'm willing to work hard. The problem is that most of those jobs are too far away. I don't own a car, and there isn't any public transportation where I live. For some interviews, I've walked over an hour just to get there. I've thought about getting a bike, but I'm a little hesitant because of traffic and safety concerns.

I've also applied for jobs like custodian and busser, but I haven't had any luck there either. I looked into online work, but almost everything I find requires experience or a degree, and I'm just trying to get my first job.

Does anyone have suggestions for entry-level jobs that don't require a lot of talking but also aren't too specialized? I'd really appreciate any advice.
