Uneven tee boxes

At my muni of choice, almost every tee box is slanted so the ball is above your feet. It drives me crazy.

How common is this? Am I justifiably annoyed, or is this super common out there?

I don't remember noticing it at other courses I've played, at least not nearly as much.
