"After some incredible discoveries in space engineering and astrophysics - the Curvature Fold Theory, which bent space-time for intra-solar travel, and Heliocrystal Harvesting, the extraction of energy crystals from the asteroid belts of Jupiter and Saturn - in 2097 what became known as "The Auric Expansion" began. A golden age that finally made space travel possible, leading to the colonization of the solar system and the discovery of materials that changed energy, technology and innovation forever.

The gap between rich and poor grew exponentially. Staying on Earth meant staying on a drained, unstable planet - an open-air prison. The real new world was the "Solgate Citadel", a massive high-tech space station orbiting at the gravitational sweet spot between Earth and Sun, with artificial ecosystems and biomes that allowed the wealthy, the corporations, the politicians - anyone who wasn't ordinary - to live in what had become the new definition of luxury.

Things slowly began to improve from 2116, when other alien species were actually discovered and met. The cultural exchange that followed brought back something humanity had almost lost: the sense of itself. Associations were born. The Earth entered a phase of restoration and renewal. That momentum led, around 2128, to the birth of many companies devoted to space exploration - Cosmoticaos, Avantika, NNASA (New NASA). Among all of them, one stood apart for its ideals: AETHER (Aerospace Exploration & Humanitarian Threshold for Enlightened Research). A largely non-profit, self-funded entity with one single, precise objective: discover what lies at the center of the universe.

But the same impulse that seemed to have brought humanity back to something noble broke almost immediately. A patent dispute over an ancient alien biotechnology. An accusation of cultural gen*cide filed against a minor colony. A leaked NNASA internal redacted memo that ignited three governments simultaneously. These companies turned against each other, and against the Human Republic itself - reprisals, revolutions, civil wars rippling across Earth, the solar system and interstellar diplomacy. It didn't take long for enemies of every race and origin to exploit the moment. The Auric Expansion has a start date and an end date: 2097-2130.

And from the edges of unknown space, something is coming. No one knows their name. Scattered across derelict hulls, intercepted transmissions and classified documents, only fragments remain - enough to understand one thing: they don't conquer. They erase. Species, systems, entire timelines - gone. They want to be the only thing that has ever existed, across every fold of space-time.

What seemed like a distant dream for AETHER has become perhaps the only real hope."
