[New Player] Bosses just kill my enjoyment of this game
[Quick rant from a frustrated new player]
This might seem laughable to experienced players, but as a new player, bosses are by far the most frustrating part of Tarkov for me. I play PvE, and I can hold my own usually against scavs and PMCs. But encountering bosses means my raid is over 98% of the time.
I give factory a wide berth since it seems Tagilla is there basically every time, and I have never survived an encounter with him. Reshala and Sanitar get me most of the time I encounter them. The only boss I feel like I can somewhat compete with is Partisan. And so far I had the displeasure uf meeting the Goons twice, both times resulting in my early demise.
Just 15 minutes ago, I crossed paths with the Goons, and I've unloaded a full 41-round mag of 9x19 PST into Knight before he killed me like it was nothing. I have watched some videos about bosses, and they all recommend higher pen ammo that I don't have access to or cannot afford. This means that bosses are just a gamble.
This feels like terrible game design. As a new player, you can enjoy the game and survive or die from time to time and it feels somewhat fair. But if you are unlucky enough to cross paths with a boss (especially those with heavy armor), you are dead because there is nothing you can do against them. I would understand if those difficult enemies would be on late game maps, where you should be in a state where you can compete with them. But this happened on Customs, where a lot of early game quests are set.
How was this for you as a new player? Do you have any tips on how to avoid them? (I would love a switch to just turn them off until I am ready to meet them...)
