Is it crazy I often think my life would be a little easier if I was a girl?
This is not to put down the struggles women go through all their lives since birth. I am not envious of the cat calling, the objectification, the periods, the eating disorders when you turn thirteen and the part where you carry a kid for 9 months and then push it out.
I am envious of how emotionally open you can be without feeling off about it.
Long story short, I have been struggling my whole life, I was born an autistic child with an unstable home. As I hit puberty I developed major mental illnessess with depression probably being the most paralyzing. Right now I am arguably at one of the lowest points in my life so far.
This makes me look at girls online, some of whom are friends or acquaintances and I just feel envy. They talk about their struggles, are open and genuine and dont have to hide behind layers of irony to hide it. When you're already a feminine girl it just must be so much easier to take care of yourself mentally and talk about it with whomever without feeling shame.
You simply cannot do it as a guy. It feels impossible to me. I know its not but it does.
If youre a dude have you had any thoughts of this sort? And I only mean in this scenario. I still am very much a regular straight man at the end of the day. Its bizzare.
