Hitting multiple birds while driving.

Okay so my friend has hit and killed/seriously injured several birds over the last 6 months. I joked that I would look up what curse has befallen her but read hitting birds actually aligns more with drastic life path changes which makes complete sense for the current chapter in her life.

However, she just called me sobbing because a partridge bolted onto the road and she struck it.

She lives in a rural area so birds are everywhere but when I got her to describe the incidents it’s less she’s hitting birds and the birds are moving into the road rather than away from it.

Just looking for some insight into if this is poor luck for her and the birds or if my joke about being cursed is less of a joke and more of a message.
