I spent months creating an animated music video about being the "black sheep" of the family.

Question

I wanted to tell a story without relying on the generic performance shots to camera and cut aways of traditional music videos

I've always been a huge linkin park fan and breaking the habit I believe was the inspiration deep in the subconscious for this one :)

anyway the song..

It's about a black sheep who leaves home after a huge family conflict to chase his dream of becoming a musician. Time passes, the black sheep even though he has it all still feels empty, after making it, his parents finally see him on TV and send him a simple gift that says:

"I see you now black sheep "

The animation mixes cinematic shots with a rock/alternative soundtrack, but I was hoping to get feedback from people who actually appreciate animation rather than just the music.

also this was my first attempt ever at doing this.. would I do it again? lol maybe but honestly my hat goes off to people who do this full time it is not easy!

I'd genuinely love to know:

  • Did the story come across clearly?
  • Were there any shots or transitions that stood out?
  • At what point, if any, did you feel emotionally invested?

I'd really appreciate any honest feedback. Thanks for taking the time to watch.
