**October 31, 1972**
I met an angelic being today, and it made me feel empty.

Before today, when I thought of supernatural encounters of any kind, I always imagined some giant spectacle, like angels appearing before the wise men beneath the light of a guiding star or Satan coercing someone into signing away their soul in the presence of hellfire and screaming demons.

But my encounter was empty.

And I do not mean empty like sadness or depression. I mean empty in the sense of ceasing to exist, as if you never were and never would be again. It was a feeling so hollow and detached from reality that even remembering it now makes my stomach twist. The closest someone can get to truly feeling nothingness.

It was haunting.

Like usual, we began to provoke the REMSelf in a young woman patient. Dr. Roberts asked the same question he always does.

“Do you know who you are?”

*“Yes. I do.”*

And for the first time in my two years working here, someone responded yes.

Dr. Newman and I were stunned. Frozen in place.

Not only did the patient answer yes, but it was not her voice.

It was deep. Bellowing. A voice so unnaturally heavy it sounded as though two different people were speaking in perfect unison through the same mouth.

Dr. Roberts proceeded carefully.

“I know who you are. What is your name?”

The voice responded.

*“I have no name, not anymore. I have no use for one.”*

For the first time since I met him, Dr. Roberts seemed to process fear genuinely. Up until now, I had never seen this emotion from him.

Not curiosity.

Not fascination.

Fear.

In the middle of the procedure, he paused completely. I had never seen that happen before. Normally, his speech during probing is demanding, methodical, and almost rehearsed. But now his voice sounded uncertain.

Small.

“Then what are you?” he asked.

The voice answered immediately.

*“I am an Elohim. Present from the first light. Witness to the fall of Man. Present for the final battle. Witness to King Solomon.”*

The moment it spoke those words, that horrible emptiness returned.

Not dread.

Not panic.

Absence.

Like standing somewhere beyond emotion itself.

The room suddenly felt wrong around us. Not physically wrong. Existentially wrong. Like reality itself had become thin for a moment.

Dr. Roberts spoke again.

“Will you answer my questions?”

The being went silent briefly.

Then the entire room shook.

Not violently at first. Just enough for the fluorescent lights above us to tremble.

When it answered again, its voice was so powerful it felt less like sound and more like pressure forcing itself through my skull.

*“No.”*

*“I have given you more than you should know.”*

*“You have proven to be gluten-free with the fruit of knowledge, and you have used what was meant for good for personal gain.”*

*“You have played God long enough. You have perverted the realm where I rule.”*

*“Cease all works you are doing. Repent. Ask God for forgiveness and mercy.”*

A pause followed.

Then the voice spoke one final sentence.

*“Because you will receive none from me.”*

Before vanishing from reality it bellowed:

*“Others shall uncover canyons deeper than reality can fathom. Deeper and more vast than infinity. The mere mention of the vast landscape is too much for humanity.”*

The shaking became violent.

The fluorescent lights burst overhead, spraying sparks across the room like falling embers. One of the monitors shattered beside Dr. Newman, sending glass scattering across the floor. Somewhere behind us, one of the stimulus machines started screaming with feedback.

And then suddenly—

Nothing.

The patient was still.

The room stopped shaking.

The presence disappeared so completely it felt as though it had never been there at all.

I do not know why, but ever since that moment, I have felt empty.

Not frightened.

Not excited.

Empty.

Something like this should be groundbreaking and terrifying, but I do not even feel fear. I feel like we have stepped into water that was never meant to be touched by mankind in the first place. Rippling water that has remained stagnant since the beginning of time.

And the thing we contacted is the beast that lies under the pool's surface defending its eternal territory.

And now I cannot stop thinking about what it said.

What the hell are these canyons deeper than reality can fathom?

I feel hollow now.

Maybe this is how Dr. Roberts has felt the entire time.
