What paint or stain to use

We bought a house recently and want to color the wood siding. There is only wood siding on one side of the house and it is under a porch. What is the best product to use to get it to be white? Tossing up the idea of putting something like SW SuperDeck 9600 on it or just go with an acrylic latex paint?
