Love him, but I know he belongs to someone else

This is especially painful since he has a canon love in his source. And when I try to communicate with him, he also pushes me away. It hurts. It's the rejection that you can also get, but I also can't stop thinking about him. It's been more than a year and I know I let this character too close to my heart.

I wonder if someone has already felt like that. When you love a character, and your feelings just get rejected and pushed away, because the character already has someone. AUs don't work for me and while I know that there are a few people here with FOs who do have a canon love, it still feels different I think.

I once heard from someone, "He also needs to love you back", and that is true, but it hurts none the less anyways.
