Why did Emmentaler in particular get the synonym "swiss cheese"? Or rather, why are there no other "country" cheese, like Dutch cheese instead of Gouda, English cheese for cheddar, Swedish cheese for Västerbottenost, Norwegian cheese for Brunost etc?
