Is it a bad idea to pay my(21F) gf's (26F) rent?

I (21F) have been with my gf (26F) for about 7 months. We have little ups and downs but for the most part everything between us is great. Our problems come from the circumstances of her life which often suck.

She has 2 jobs and does delivery/rideshare inbetween them, so she's always exhausted and still barely making rent. She hasn't really got anyone else she's close to in this city which makes her lonely.

Her relationship with her family is complicated. My family is not well off by any means but are fortunate enough to live in a nice area and have always been loving and supportive to me. Her family has drug use woven through and she was abused/neglected as a child.

It's emotionally draining to witness, much worse to live it I'm sure, and I'm desperate for anything I can do. I daydream about leaving fake wallets where she might find them just so she might take the cash. Her current lease is in a shaky situation for several reasons and I keep thinking about trying to pay her housemate (30M) her half for this month, which is late at this point, secretly. My financial stability is a temporary situation, I'm a student right now and will be in considerable debt when I graduate. Still, I'm in a better position financially than she is. I'm just desperate to do something to lighten her load temporarily. I don't think she would accept if I offered to her directly, I sent her $500 a few months ago for something related to her car and told her to pay me back as slowly as she needs though I don't expect that to happen any time soon. Rent would be somewhere around $800 for her half IIRC. That's not nothing to me, but I don't care about the money. She's so kind and makes me happy I just want to be able to do something.

Has anyone been in a situation like this? I don't know what to do. If I do pay it, I guess the best case is her housemate pretends he got a buddy of his to help out, and she has a few more weeks to recoup before next month. It kills me that I can't fix everything for her. Advice appreciated thank you.
