Extended health after retirement

I’m looking into retiring early and was wondering about transitioning from the group extended medical plan to an individual plan. I looked on MyHR and it looks like you just go to a private plan. I checked Canada Life, Blue Cross and I’m a bit surprised at the costs. I will need it for my husband and my prescriptions and dental as well as vision and travel? Any advice on what plan offers the best benefits for $$$ is much appreciated!
