Consent for student gov to access IRS?

Hi,
I just reapplied for IDR through student gov. My renewal was last month but my service provider never sent me any correspondence until it was a bill. Anyway, I gave consent for the app to access my IRS records. Was that a bad idea? Do you all recommend self-reporting instead? I know there’s a way to withdraw consent but I don’t know if that would significantly slow things down more than it already is.
Loan is from 2014 so I believe it’s still eligible for the old SAVE plan until 2027. Student gov let me apply but there is also conflicting information about it going away.

“This email confirms that you consented to the use and disclosure of federal tax information, which allows the U.S. Department of Education's office of Federal Student Aid to request your federal tax information from the IRS. This information will be used for the purpose of completing the income-driven repayment (IDR) application or annual recertification.”
