(I’ve always worn a 32DDD because that’s what I could find, and I have never done a calculator like this)
I have been on a journey to find a bra style that fits me for years. I have found myself liking a balconette style bra, but was confused on why every one I bought recently seems so wrong. They were better than the normal t-shirt bra though, which is definitely not the right fit for my breast type.
Well, this morning I learned what it means to have a narrow root and suddenly the bras not working for me makes sense. I regularly find bras eating into my armpit/ under my armpit area. Cups and underwire seem to consistently be too wide for me. So ideally I’d like a cup for a narrower root.
I’m looking for a supportive bra to give me a little bit of cleavage without spillage or the “quad-boob” I get from the top of a cup eating into the spilled out tissue.
I’m not wide set or narrow set, somewhere in the middle. When standing my breasts are not touching but they’re also not in different zip codes. Because of the lack of tissue on top, finding a bra that gives me a little bit of cleavage has been a journey with no destination. I’m thinking something with a little bit of side support might help? Maybe a balconette or half-cup?
I’m new at learning all these things, I’ve lived in sports bras for a decade because I didn’t know this world catering to different beasts existed. Hopefully someone is willing to read through my wall of text and has some words of wisdom.
