Why is Hellenic Paganism called that?

I know a Hellenic person and I always wonder as to why they’re not just called Hellenic and their religion isn’t just called Hellenism.
Are you separate from the historical Greek Hellenists or is it just names being complicated?

Sorry if I’m just an ignorant boring atheist but I’m really curious.
