I Learned Less Furniture Meant More Comfort
I always thought a cozy bedroom meant filling it with stuff.
Extra chair in the corner. Big dresser. Storage bench. Side table packed with random things. It looked nice... but somehow the room always felt crowded.
One weekend I decided to get rid of anything I wasn't actually using.
The chair that just collected clothes? Gone. A bunch of random decorations I'd stopped noticing? Packed away. Cleared off every surface except the stuff I used every day.
The room instantly felt bigger, even though nothing had changed about the size.
What surprised me most was how much calmer it felt at night. There wasn't a pile of stuff catching my eye every time I looked around. I wasn't stepping around furniture or trying to find space for things.
Turns out comfort isn't always about adding more. Sometimes it's just having enough room to breathe.
It's definitely not a minimalist bedroom or anything. I still have plenty of stuff. I just stopped keeping furniture that wasn't doing anything except taking up space.
Funny how removing a few things made me enjoy the room way more than buying something new ever did.
Anyone else realize they were making their bedroom feel smaller without even noticing?
