I built a tool for planning bike builds and checking compatibility, looking for honest feedback

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on a side project called builds.bike:

https://builds.bike/

I started it because every time I worked on a bike, new or old, I ended up bouncing between old forum posts, manufacturer charts, Marketplace listings and random notes trying to figure out what would actually fit.

The basic idea is a digital garage and build planner for bikes.

What you can do:

1. Add a bike or start a build Start with a frame, add a bike you already own, or revise something already saved in your garage**.**

2. Add and organize parts Search by model name or part number, paste a product or Marketplace listing, pull from your saved parts bin, or ask for AI to suggest a compatible part for you.

3. Check compatibility as you build The site reviews the full build as you go and flags conflicts, caveats and anything that still needs to be confirmed. You can also run a quick standalone check between two or more parts.

4. Save everything to your garage Keep track of your bikes, installed components, spare parts, upgrades and service history.

5. Ask questions about your setup Get answers based on the bikes and parts already saved in your garage.

It’s free to try here:

It’s still early, and I’m posting because I need feedback from people who actually build and work on bikes. I’d especially like to know:

  • Where you got confused or stuck
  • Any compatibility result that looks wrong
  • Whether the value of the site was clear within the first few minutes
  • Anything you think is missing or unnecessary

Thanks in advance!
