Any tips for fixing bottom teeth that moved due to bite guard?

I had perfect teeth when I was younger without ever having braces. Then, I went to dentists who knew nothing about TMJ but still treated me for it and now I have gaps on either side of my two front teeth. I hate it and it makes me really self conscious. I finally found a dentist who got me a bite guard that doesn't press on the front of my teeth and am now wondering how to fix the damage. I was considering braces, but I know braces in and of themselves can be an issue for a variety of reasons. I don't want to mess up my mouth even more than it is especially since I wasn't born with teeth issues in the first place. Any ideas?
