What to propose with instead of a ring?

I want to propose to my girlfriend but I don't think a traditional ring will really land well. She doesn't ever wear jewelry other than some very basic stud earrings and I got her a nice pair for our anniversary that she rarely takes off. On occasion she will wear a very thin necklace on fancy days.

She also works in a lab so she wouldn't be able to wear a ring for a majority of her day anyways. With her background in science and research what do you think a good alternative might be?
